About Us
AWWIN, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization designed to assist the single working woman displaced due to various reasons such as divorce, illness, domestic violence, temporary loss of employment, etc
AWWIN was founded in the year of 2000 because of the trials and tribulations of its founder Ms Sarahlyn U. Argrow experienced as a single divorced parent and grandparent. There were times when she did not know how she and her daughters were going to make it. They went through times when Sarahlyn did not have money for food, money to pay utility bills, money for rent, etc.
Sarahlyn realized that God was building a testimony out of her life. She can remember when she and her children were living in run down housing on the eastside of Savannah, Georgia and the rats as well as the roaches thought they had a place to sleep.
God gave her a job that paid her over $60,000 a year with a GED and the responsibility of heading the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for a major corporation L’Oreal USA (formerly Carson Products). That position has moved to New Jersey, of course Sarahlyn did not make that move.
AWWIN is Sarahlyn’s way of giving back that which was given to her. We so often become a GREAT SUCCESS in life and never share with other women how we made it or even that there was a struggle. By doing this Sarahlyn believes we cheat God, ourselves and the women in need of our stories and services. That is why she continues to tell her story and that is why AWWIN, Inc. exists today.
AWWIN has served over 400 families in the Savannah and surrounding area cities through the services they offer. The foundation of the organization is a thirty week computer and job readiness training class.
AWWIN is striving to make a great difference in the lives of others. We will launch an organizational self assessment in 2007 to create a roadmap of benchmark standards and practices to make lasting change in the lives of our clients and communities.
